NEON MAG - premiere hip hop dance magazine
My senior thesis – NEON mag aims at merging the physical movement of dance with the cultural implications of the hip-hop movement and capturing it in a static form. An homage to my typically ‘bright’ wardrobe, NEON mag evokes the electrifying and attention-grabbing aesthetics of hip-hop dance through explosive typography and spot colors.
NEON mag is comprised of articles pertaining to current events relating to the socio-economic aspect of the hip-hop movement as well as showcasing different dancers, choreographers and dance crews who have been taking over mainstream media. Stylistically, NEON mag merges the unpredictability of dance through spray paint with the more technical aspects of dance through the strong geometric shapes.
